Rise and Fall

I remember the moment I turned,
like a human bitten by a vampire.
It was early in the morning
at the crack of dawn
You were with me and
you smiled.

I had to fight,
I turned away
But your venom
spread like wildfire
in my veins.

Oh curses, damn—
‘Twas the end of me
I looked at you;
and you looked back at me.

Our eyes locked—

—and just like that,

I too
now crave blood
like you do.

We were fire and fire, you and I
We lit up ablaze, and then burned
each other at the stake. ◊

This entry is part of my undertaking a 30-day challenge Matt Cutts talked about at TED2011. The premise is to “think about something you’ve always wanted to add to your life and try it for the next 30 days.” I am challenging myself to post one blog entry a day for 30 consecutive days. [I’ve given up on the ‘consecutive’ part, but I intend to finish the 30 days!]

Today is Day 28.
