I was sitting by myself
at a café today,
when I realized I look
outward now.
Toward the world.
It felt a bit strange,
because for the most part
I’d spent my years
looking inward.
Toward the self.
…
A threshold has been crossed,
maybe.
…
After all those years
looking inward,
by now I must know myself
—not completely—
but I know
a good deal of it
enough
to now be able to look outward
…
and really see. ♦

Although my journey of self-discovery isn’t complete, I do catch myself seeing the world in a new perspective now.

Wow… I REALLY love this piece!
Looking inwards is a skill, as is looking outwards. A balance of life, in a manner of speaking.
